Galaxy Note 7 is very problematic for Samsung. They have decided to replace all faulty devices what was very expensive operation, but there are still issues with potentially safe Note 7 mobiles. Fortunately, the Koreans do not want to give up and they are working on new flagship smartphones, which are of course Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge.

According to the report from Korea Herald, Samsung has already started to order components for upcoming flagship models. Generally, they present new Galaxy S devices a day before the MWC (Mobile World Congress), so it is almost 100% certain that Galaxy S8 will be officially showed on 26th March 2017. New flagship mobile from Samsung should be innovative smartphone and it will not be a refreshed Galaxy S7 or copy of iPhone 7.

Samsung has decided to remove a physical home button in Galaxy S8.

I bet that you are thinking at this moment that this is nothing new, because midrange mobiles already do not have physical home button. However, until now the home button was used in flagship smartphones from Samsung and Apple as the fingerprint reader. In my opinion, Samsung will apply the ultrasound sensors for Qualcomm Snapdragon Sense ID technology. This solution was already used by Chinese in Xiaomi Mi 5s phone, but they have decided to hide ultrasonic sensors below the home button. Samsung is going to do something more and they plan to place fingerprint reader below the screen. This is quite probably that the similar feature will be used by Apple in the iPhone 8.

Galaxy S8 will be produced in two variants with different processors.

Samsung Galaxy S7 was manufactured in two versions. The first variant has Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and it is available in China and the United States. The second model with Samsung’s Exynos 8890 processor is available in other regions. It looks that in case of Galaxy S8 the situation will be similar and Samsung will prepare variants with Exynos 8895 and Snapdragon 830. Both processors will offer comparable performance, because they will be manufactured in 10 nm technology what ensure good efficiency, low power consumption and small heating.
