Market observers have predicted that Apple will have huge problems with production of iPhone X on huge scale which would satisfy the market demand. This problem was due to the low availability of components needed to build a set of cameras used in Face ID. However, all these problems have been resolved.
The new Apple flag was to hit this year only to selected lucky people who previously bought their iPhone X in advance. Most people who prefer to buy smartphones directly in the store after trying them out are expected to wait until February next year. However, after the launch of the iPhone X, it turned out that in many countries it is normally available in stores. Where Apple products are spread like hot cakes (for example in the United States), the waiting time has been shortened from the expected 5-6 weeks to 14 days. Malicious people claim that this is due to low interest in extremely expensive iPhone X.
Apple has increased iPhone X production about three times.
It recently turned out that the company responsible for making iPhone X, i.e. Foxconn, used juvenile students working 11 hours every day. However, Apple’s original problems with the delay of the iPhone X production were not due to the low productivity of the factories in China. This was due to the lack of components needed to build a TrueDepth camera, which is key to the Face ID system. LG, Innotek and Sharp had previously had a problem creating components that met the technical requirements. Initially, only 60% of the components produced were usable in the iPhone X. Currently this number has grown to around 80% – 90%. The second factor affecting the delays in the production of the new Apple smartphone was the small number of LTE antennas provided by Career. Just two months ago the production line dropped from 50,000 to 150,000 units daily of the iPhone X. Now this number has risen to 450,000 – 550,000. In spite of this growth, the iPhone X continues to be a deficit product. Major problems have already been resolved, but it was done too late. Therefore, it is estimated that Apple will deliver by the end of this year only 10% more copies of the new flagship than previously speculated.
